IRCMS, IROAST and KAIST had the Joint Symposium on November 11 and 12, 2019 at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), and Ramada Hotel Daejeon, Korea. This joint symposium is the thrid time followed the first one held on October 2018 at KAIST, and the second one held on January 2019 at Kumamoto.
The aim of the symposium was to match potential research collaborations between Kumamoto University and KAIST in the field of bio-engineering to harness medical and technology, in particular, bio-imaging (microscopy, nanotechnology and microfluidics) and single cell analysis (big data informatics, mathematical modeling, etc.).
On the first day, the symposium started with the opening remarks by Prof. Yong-Mahn Han, the Dean of College of Life Science & Bioengineering, KAIST. Then eight principal investigators (PIs) from KAIST, 1 PI from IROAST and 6 PIs and 1 researcher from IRCMS introduced their cutting-edge researches in the four sessions of "Genomics and Epigenomics", "Stem Cells and Inflammation", "New Avenues for Biomedical Science" and "Tissue Formation and Maintenance". On the second day, each young researchers gave talks and had active discussions on their researches.
The next symposium will be held in Autumn 2020 at Kumamoto!
