September 4 2024
On September 4th, 2024, we had a privilege to host a delegation from Sultan Agung Islamic University (UNISSULA), Indonesia, at IRCMS, Kumamoto University. The visit featured academic presentations, discussions, and lab tours aimed at fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange between two institutions.
The visit began with a greeting from Dr. Takizawa, followed by a greeting from Prof. Dr. Agung Putra, representing UNISSULA. During the opening session, a commemorative gift was presented to IRCMS from UNISSULA. The academic session included presentations from Mr. Kosasih from Takizawa Lab and Dr. Hashimoto from Umemoto Lab, who shared their research and insights. After a short break, the visitors toured the IRCMS labs and gained an inside look at our research facilities.
Following the tour, the IRCMS Internship and Fellowship Programs were introduced, highlighting opportunities for international collaboration. Ms. Lucia from KAIST, who newly joined Mizuno lab as an internship student last month, introduced her experience at IRCMS.
Dr. Arima delivered the final presentation on his lab, the research activities and also introduced the Center for Metabolic Regulation of Healthy Aging at the Faculty of Life Sciences, which has another educational program with a MEXT scholarship.
The visit concluded on a positive note, fostering a cordial atmosphere. We look forward to promising future collaborations in research.
