Professor Hitoshi Takizawa visited Shanghai, China from November 20th to November 23rd to participate in the Shanghai-Kyushu One Health Consortium. "One Health" refers to an approach or concept that recognizes the interconnectedness of human health, animal health, and environmental health. In recent years, there has been a growing demand for interdisciplinary research approaches that transcend traditional boundaries.
During this visit, Professor Takizawa engaged in discussions with researchers from universities and administrative institutions in Kyushu, covering topics related to medicine, veterinary medicine, agriculture, and environmental ecology. Participants not only delved into the academic aspects but also visited facilities and explored cultural sites in Shanghai. Meetings were also held to discuss future research collaborations. Participants had the opportunity to explore activities in the One Health field between Japan and China, fostering expectations for collaborative research projects. It is expected that future collaborations will transpire.
