IRCMS held an opening ceremony on July 8, 2014. The ceremony started with opening remarks by Isao Taniguchi, President of Kumamoto University. Then, Congratulatory speeches were made by the four guests of honor
Dr. Fumimaro Takaku, president of the Japanese Association of Medical Sciences
Dr. Toshio Kuroki, adviser of Research Center for Science Systems, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science
Mr. Tetsuo Goda, Director of Scientific Research Aid Division, Research Promotion Bureau, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
Dr. Taihei Miyagawa, a professor emeritus of Kumamoto University
At the end of the ceremony, ribbon- cutting and facility tour were held.
More than 50 people attended the ceremony and they placed expectations on the research activities at IRCMS.
