Professor Teh obtained his MD (1992) from the University of Queensland, Australia and his PhD (1997) from the Karolinska Institute, Sweden. He is currently the Deputy Director (Research) of the National Cancer Centre of Singapore, and Deputy Director of the SingHealth Duke-NUS Institute of Precision Medicine (PRISM). He is a past and present member of the editorial boards of Lancet Oncology, Cancer Research, Molecular Cancer Therapeutics. His laboratory has been focusing on Genomics and Epigenomics of Asian-Prevalent Cancers such as hepatobiliary cancer, herbal carcinogen-related cancer and breast fibroepithelial tumors. Dr Teh is a recipient of the 2015 Singapore President Science Award, 2018 AACR Team Science Award, and plenary lecturer at the 2019 AACR Annual Meeting.
