令和5年7月6日（日本時間）、英国インペリアル・カレッジ・ロンドン アンソニー・ド・ロスチャイルド講堂で日本学術振興会 研究拠点形成事業令和2（2020）年度採択課題「ストレス造血と白血病病態解析のための基礎・臨床研究共同体の構築」における研究活動の一環としてシンポジウムを開催しました。このシンポジウムは同大医学部学長であるジョナサン・ウェーバー教授と感染症研究所の共同所長であるチャールズ・バンガム教授が過去60年間において行ってきたレトロウイルス研究への顕著な貢献を称えるものでした。

12名の発表者（熊本大学研究者1名、海外研究機関11名（ユニバーシティ・カレッジ・ロンドン、インペリアル・カレッジ・ロンドン、グエルフ大学、オックスフォード大学、ロックフェラー大学）による発表が行われ、国内外から約60名以上の参加者が参加し、発表者と活発に議論を深めました。
