A hybrid-style symposium, organized by Dr. Goro Sashida of IRCMS, Kumamoto University, was held as part of the JSPS Core-to-Core Program "Integrative approach for normal and leukemic stem cells" on February 20-21, 2024. Under the theme of "The Dynamics and Development of Normal and Malignant Hematopoietic Stem Cells," seven researchers from Kumamoto University and eight speakers from respected research institutes both in and out of Japan presented their research.

Spanning two insightful days, the symposium brought together a diverse array of speakers and participants, fostering rich discussions and meaningful exchanges. The first day commenced with opening remarks by Dr. Sashida from IRCMS, paving the way for a series of engaging presentations by eight speakers. The highlight of the day was the keynote speech delivered by Dr. Hanna Uckelmann from Goethe University, captivating the audience with its depth and insight. The first day concluded with the gathering of over 70 participants from both domestic and international locations.

On the second day, seven speakers took the stage, each offering their unique perspectives and expertise. The day was characterized by dynamic discussions, lively debates, and the exploration of cutting-edge ideas. Dr. Takizawa of IRCMS delivered the closing remarks, marking the successful conclusion of the symposium.
