Career History & Research Interests

Masayuki Iwasaki obtained his Ph.D. in Immunology from Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine. He finished post-doctoral fellowship in Dr. Takuro Nakamura Lab at the Cancer Institute, Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research and second post-doctoral fellowship in Dr. Michael L. Cleary Lab at Stanford University School of Medicine and was promoted to a research associate. Masayuki Iwasaki has been focusing on the molecular/genomic characterization and therapeutic targeting of leukemia stem cells (LSCs) in the genetic subtype of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with genomic rearrangements of the MLL (Mixed Lineage Leukemia) gene.
