Career History & Research Interests

Momoko Yoshimoto received an M.D. from Mie University School of Medicine. She completed the Pediatric residency-fellowship program at Kobe City General Hospital. She received Ph.D. under Professor Tatsutoshi Nakahata at Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine. Momoko Yoshimoto finished post-doctoral fellowship in Dr. Mervin C. Yoder Lab at Indiana University School of Medicine and was promoted to an assistant research professor, 2009. Momoko Yoshimoto has been focusing on the development of hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells in the mouse embryo and in the embryonic stem cell culture system to elucidate the mechanisms that allow emergence of various hematopoietic cells from hemogenic endothelial cells. Dr. Yoshimoto is currently working at the Brown Institute of Molecular Medicine, Center for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine of the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, USA.
